Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

IBS is a common digestive complaint affecting approximately one in five people. It is a complex issue, often with several triggers, which contribute to symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal pain, bloating, flatulance, diarrhoea and constipation.

Common Triggers

Triggers vary considerably from person to person. This is why a personalised approach works very well in supporting people with IBS.

Common triggers include:

  • Food allergies or intolerances
  • A diet high in refined carbohydrates and sugar
  • An overgrowth of candida
  • A parasitic infection
  • Insufficient beneficial bacteria in the gut
  • Stress

My Approach

My aim is to identify and address the underlying triggers by taking a detailed case history, followed by a dietary analysis. If necessary, I may also recommend functional tests. Once your potential triggers have been identified, I will work with you to eliminate them. I will then support your overall digestive system to sustain long-term digestive health. Using this approach I can empower you to take control over your condition.
